Supporting my greatest inspiration… Nature.
As a big supporter of eco-friendly products and practices, I try my best to do good where I can. And being a painter who predominately uses acrylic (synthetic) paints I very quickly realised I needed to find ways to protect waterways and waste within my studio.
Years ago I implemented a few ways to reduce my impact:
Mixing small amounts of paint as I work to minimize waste
Any amounts of paint remaining on my palette are painted onto the canvas to create this ongoing series “Sassy Seconds”
(seen below)Paint water is NOT tipped down the sink! It is poured and piped onto a separate canvas
Dried paint on my palette is then peeled off and stored for a future project.
The artworks created are funky and beautiful in their own right. They are available to my fellow nature and eco lovin’ friends who would like a small painting with a big personality and earth conscious values.
